Rifle Club

Meeting Place:

1st Malden Scout Group H.Q. Tadworth Avenue, New Malden, Surrey

Aims of the Club

To offer the sport of safe and responsible target airgun shooting to Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Network and Leaders, within Scout Association Activity Rules. For beginners, the National Smallbore Rifle Association’s Youth Proficiency Scheme in air rifle shooting – a structured 8 week course – is followed. Those who complete it, may go on to take the Scout Master -at-Arms Badge and the NSRA’s YPS course in air pistol shooting. Air gun shooting may also be offered for the Bronze D of E Award (skills). Beginners’ courses are held starting in January, April and September each year. There are two Competitions each year, usually November & March open to anyone in the District (and neighboring Districts) who have attended our courses. Two of the Club Instructors are qualified Tutor Trainers and run courses for adults wishing to gain the NSRA’s YPS Tutor Diploma. This Diploma enables adults to supervise Scouts with air rifle shooting.

Details of the above courses are usually emailed / posted to leaders in advance of the event.
