Nights Away

Nights away are always popular with young people. In Scouting we pride ourselves on providing quality nights away events. From traditional Scout camping to overnight expeditions and hikes, young people are given the opportunity to develop skills and above all have fun! The Association launched a Permit Scheme to continue to ensure that all young people benefit from well organised, high quality nights away. No Leader is permitted to run a Nights Away experience without the necessary training which will include a First Aid qualification.

All Scout Groups in Royal Kingston offer their members regular Nights Away experiences.
Some of our Beaver Colonies run 24 hour indoor Sleepovers.
All our Cub Packs run camps and/or indoor Pack Holidays.
All our Scout Troops and Explorer Scout Units run camps, expeditions and over-night hikes on a regular basis. Several take place overseas.

To apply for a new permit or to renew or upgrade your current permit, please complete the appropriate sections of the Nights Away Permit application form (see below for link) and email it to Dave Batten, Royal Kingston Nights Away adviser, on
