Scout Active Support Unit

(18 years plus)

The Scout Active Support Unit consists of a group of adults who have one thing in common – a wish to support Scouting. The SASU welcomes men and women of all ages, interests and backgrounds. There is no need for members to have been involved in Scouting before, all that is required is a willingness to give some time to Scouting.

The aim of the SASU is to ‘provide active support’, with the emphasis being very much on supporting the youth programme in an active manner, at all levels of the Association from the local Scout Group to National level.

  • The Unit organises social activities for the benefit of members.
  • Some activities include raising funds so that the Unit is financially self sufficient.
  • Members of the Unit can either be Full or Associate Members of The Scout Association. Full Members make the Scout Promise and have the choice of whether or not to wear uniform.
  • Activities of the Unit include rifle shooting, canoeing, beer tasting, boat trips, rambles and generally socialising.
